Urgo Honey Healing Balm is a topical medical device designed specifically for managing superficial skin lesions, including minor wounds, grazes and first- to second-degree superficial burns. This skin-repair preparation helps restore tissue integrity while maintaining an optimal physiological environment to support the natural healing process.
Osmotic activity and moist wound healing
This balm’s mechanism of action centres on its 40% medical-grade honey content, whose physicochemical properties create powerful osmotic activity. This hyperosmolar effect draws out excess exudate and helps establish a micro-environment that discourages bacterial growth in the wound bed. At the same time, the non-occlusive formulation forms a protective film that sustains a stabilised moist environment—critical for stimulating fibroblast proliferation, facilitating keratinocyte migration and promoting healthy tissue granulation.
Clinical tolerance and granulation tissue protection
With its smooth, spreadable texture, this preparation ensures even coverage of the lesion, shielding exposed nerve endings to help reduce discomfort such as pain or peripheral pulling sensations. Engineered for high biocompatibility, it minimises secondary dressing adhesion to newly formed granulation tissue, preventing trauma during dressing changes. Urgo’s clinically structured approach stabilises local hydration, supports physiological autolytic debridement and optimises continuous epidermal repair.

How to use it
How to use Urgo Honey Healing Balm?
First, clean the wound and your hands thoroughly. Using a sterile pad, apply a thin layer to the affected area. Cover with a suitable dressing. Reapply as needed once the product has been absorbed (every 24 to 48 hours). Monitor the wound’s progress regularly.
Use within 3 months of opening. Ensure the tube is tightly closed after each use.
Compositions & ingredients

INCI formula: 40% Medical Grade Honey, Hypoallergenic Medical Grade Lanolin, Propylene Glycol, PEG 4000 and Vitamins C and E.
Due to its natural ingredients, each batch may vary in Colour (yellow to brown), viscosity and may contain visible sugar crystals. These variations do not affect the efficiency or use of the product.
Do not use if damaged or expired.
For external use only.
This product contains honey. Do not use if you are allergic to honey or any of the ingredients.
In the event of intolerance to the product or any of its ingredients, rinse immediately with water and remove any cream residue from the skin.
For any burns in Children or infants, ask your pharmacist for advice.
The product must be used by one and the same patient.
In the presence of clinical signs of local infection (redness extending to the uninjured skin, Pains, etc.), foreign bodies in the wound, heavy bleeding, biting, stinging with a sharp and/or soiled object, consult your pharmacist or doctor.
